As a highly experienced Chicago and Naperville lip augmentation specialist, Dr. Bull understands fuller lips are an indication of youth and beauty. As you glance through today’s magazines, you will see full lips displayed prominently on all models. As we grow older the lips become thinner and longer, and fine vertical lines appear – making lipstick bleed. Fortunately, there are various techniques available to help improve this situation, and Dr. Bull can elaborate on them to assist you in your selection.
Long-Lasting Lip Enhancement Solutions
- Restylane – is made of Hyaluronic acid, another ground substance in the skin. The acid is cross-linked so that when it is placed in the skin it will have a longer lasting result between 6 months to a year. While Restylane will last longer than Bovine Collagen, some lip augmentation Naperville patients have reported intermittent lip swelling while Restylane is in place. It is not currently FDA approved for use in the lip. It has been approved for other uses on the face, such as nasolabial lines and wrinkles.
- Juvederm – is another great option for lip enhancement. It is also made of Hyaluronic acid and comes in three different formulas: Juvederm, Juvederm Ultra and Juvederm Ultra Plus. Dr. Bull will help you decide which formula is best for you. Juvederm results can last up to a year and repeat injections are safe.
- Fat Transfer – this lip enhancement procedure involves moving fat from another area of the patient’s body into the lips. The fat is extracted from the abdomen, thighs or another area where a sufficient amount of fat is available. The fat is then purified and injected into the lips. This procedure is safe because the substance being injected into the lips comes from the patient’s own body, thereby minimizing the possibility of an adverse reaction. The results can last anywhere from 6 months to a year, or longer.
